Hey! So Glad You're Here.
I’m Jamie, an emerging Comedy & Drama writer developing work for stage, screen and novels.
Dialogue is my strength - natural, funny and shaped by a strong sense of character. I’m passionate about bringing humour, heart and real northern working-class voices into Comedy & Drama.

I worked for many years as a qualified person-centred therapist. That background shapes how I write emotional truth, resilience and relationships. I have written two novels and am early in my stage and screenwriting career. I am actively developing new work and my voice as a writer.
I have just been commissioned to write a thirty-minute stage play for Middle Child Theatre as one of the winners of the Fresh Ink Festival 2026.

TV and film have become overly focused on dark themes - crime drama, police procedurals, and true crime. Even once light-hearted soaps have turned to the dark side, with every storyline ending in disaster. It’s down to choice, but at present there doesn’t seem to be any, so I am concentrating on Comedy & Drama to bring back some of the lightness we all crave and need – a balance.
I am also passionate about raising awareness of mental health issues. I am currently working on a stage play to highlight the challenges of living with severe OCD. I am keen to collaborate with mental health charities and organisations to educate through drama.

Away from writing, I love green spaces and wildlife, spending time in nature and getting lost in books. I love the classics, Wuthering Heights being my favourite, and I also enjoy contemporary fiction – horror, thrillers and romance.
